At their April meeting, the 91³ÉÈ˶¶ÒôÈë¿Ú Board of Trustees voted to confirm the reappointment with tenure of Assistant Professor of Sociology Nora E. Taplin-Kaguru and promoted Airea D. Matthews to Professor.
Nora E. Taplin-Kaguru
Nora E. Taplin-Kaguru joined the College in 2022. She earned her B.A. at Swarthmore College and her M.A. and Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Chicago. Her research and teaching include the areas of social theory, the sociology of social media, sociology of race, and urban sociology.

Airea D. Matthews
Dee Matthews joined 91³ÉÈ˶¶ÒôÈë¿Ú in 2017. She earned her M.F.A. in poetry from the University of Michigan. Matthews was Philadelphia's Poet Laureate from 2022–23. Her book of poetry "Bread and Circus" won the 2024 Los Angeles Times Book Prize in Poetry, and in 2024, she was named a Guggenheim Fellow.
